IDEA International—the International Association for Integration, Dignity and Economic Advancement—is a worldwide network of individuals and organizations promoting the equal participation, human rights, and dignity of persons affected by Hansen's disease (leprosy) and other neglected tropical diseases.
By becoming an IDEA Affiliate, your organization formally joins a global community united by shared values of inclusion, respect, dignity, dialogue, and justice. Affiliates operate independently in their countries or regions, advancing IDEA's mission while addressing locally identified needs - building local leadership, supporting communities, and amplifying the voices of persons with lived experience.
What It Means to Be an Affiliate
Affiliates are independent organizations that:
- Uphold IDEA's mission and guiding principles.
- Use the IDEA name alongside their local identity (e.g., IDEA Kenya, IDEA Nepal).
- Participate in shared learning, storytelling, and advocacy initiatives.
- Operate transparently and respectfully within their national contexts.
Affiliation is symbolic and values-based—not financial or legal. Each affiliate remains a separate organization, connected through goodwill, cooperation, and shared purpose.

How to Become an Affiliate
Becoming an IDEA Affiliate begins with signing the IDEA Affiliate Agreement, which outlines shared commitments, values, and mutual responsibilities.

info@ideainternational.ngo requesting affiliation.
Step 2: Once approved, your organization will be listed on this page and officially welcomed into IDEA's global family.
