IDEA

Where We Work

Numerous local and national organizations and networks of persons who have experienced Hansen’s disease have formed around the world over many years. They bring people together to advocate for human rights; promote inclusion in society; increase awareness of the disease and the challenges people face; and support individuals medically, psychologically and economically during and post-treatment.

Today persons who have experienced other neglected tropical diseases are joining these organizations or forming their own organizations. Click on the map below to find out where these organizations are located. If you have updates for this map, please contact us at information@ideaadvocates.org.

IDEA identifies, provides and facilitates leadership opportunities for people who have experienced Hansen's disease. Through these opportunities, individuals gain recognition as leaders and assume progressive leadership roles within their communities, countries and internationally. Following are examples.
